Solving the UK's pension problems

As part of Fintech Week 2017, HM Treasury held a two-day Hackathon event that brought various Fintech companies together to work intensively to solve some of the UK's issues regarding pensions.

Attending as a representative from Moneyhub, the event centred on a theme of ‘engaging people with their pensions and building financial capability’. Our brief was to encourage people's perceptions of pensions away from being a "floating pot of money that I don't know much about, but that I'll certainly need someday."

We created an app to engage people with their pensions. An app through which users could be informed, get advice, control, add to, and interact with their pensions as a tangible part of their daily lives.

The event contributed to the wider national common-good but also showcases my ability to work intensively on a design brief and effectively in a newly-established team.
